Artist’s Statement
My work is a contemporary visual rumination of how the impetus of individual freedoms can be impeded when interlocked with larger forces. I explore the struggle to maintain a locus of control in a world where the future is unforeseeable. This sense is what I search to capture in my latest collection of drawings. My signature marks are charged, as I attempt to use line complexity to mirror the turmoil I seek to invoke in those engaged in these large pieces. Through drawing with ink, I am most direct using extensive force to signify my unrest in these images. The medium allows me to exploit the surface and reveal my view in a most graphic approach.
